Mark Wakeford

Chief Executive Officer

Mr Wakeford moved to Myanmar in October 2018 to take on the role of Exera’s CEO.  Mark spent 17 years with G4S (Worlds Largest Security Solutions provider) working in the UK, USA, PNG, Thailand, Philippines and Singapore providing complex outsourced services. These services included Manned Guarding, Mobile Security, Event Management, Electronic Security, Alarm Monitoring, Facilities Management and Cash Management.  In the UK, Mark was responsible for leading, winning and implementing major “Business to Government” outsourcing opportunities by providing customers with integrated field services and technology solutions.

He is also a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with an MBA.


 Kay Thwe Oo

Vice-President, Finance, HR & Administration

Kay Thwe OoMa Kay is Vice-President, Finance, HR & Administration at Exera. She joined the company in 2014 as its accountant and has developed its finance and payroll systems to facilitate its growth from 100 to over 1,100 employees. Previously, she worked at Samsung Myanmar following her return to the country from nearly a decade of work and study in the United Kingdom. While in the UK, she earned her ACCA designation and worked at an SME accounting firm.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in applied accounting from Oxford Brookes University and studied physics at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the University of Yangon.

Yann Sudret

General Manager, Protective Services

Mr Sudret is General Manager, Protective Services for Exera, where he has worked since 2015. A retired Lieutenant-Colonel with 32 years of experience in the French Marines, he commanded an airborne infantry unit in the Indian Ocean, served as Chief of Operations for the South Lebanon UN Quick Reaction Force, commanded a combat outpost in Afghanistan, acted as an Advisory Team Leader to the Afghan National Army, served as Operational Training Cell Chief for the 9th Marines Brigade and coordinated counter-terrorism response for Paris’ three airports.

While seconded to the French Department of Foreign Affairs for six years, he was the Country Program Manager for military training in Ethiopia, Congo, and Afghanistan.

Hannah Zitner

General Manager, Risk Services

Ms Zitner is General Manager of Exera’s Risk Services division. She has worked in Myanmar as an analyst since mid-2016, having previously served as an advisor to the Network Activities Group, a Myanmar-based NGO focused on disaster relief and resilience. She has over 10 years of experience in emergency management and communications in Canada at the provincial and municipal levels, and with the 2010 Olympics organizing committee.

Ms Zitner holds a master’s degree in disaster and emergency management from York University, and bachelor’s degrees in journalism and political science from the University of King’s College and Concordia University.

Mario Leroux

General Manager, Transport Services

Mr Leroux is General Manager of the Transport Services division, having joined Exera in June 2015. Previously, he spent over 30 years working in operations for CP Rail, where he managed complex business processes and personnel supervision in a strict

regulatory environment, working through fraught unionized employee relationships. He subsequently served as Director of Operations of the Chemin de fer Arnaud, supervising the activities of 200 employees operating a private railway servicing an iron ore mine.

Lauren Benson

Vice-President, Clients & Quality

Ms Benson joined Exera in June 2017 as Vice-President, Clients & Quality.  She moved to Myanmar in 2014 to work with the national chamber of commerce, UMFCCI, where she developed HR management capacity by designing and implementing new programs, policies, and procedures. Prior to Myanmar, she coordinated operational planning, reporting and compliance at RBF (Australia), a Tasmanian superannuation fund.  She also undertook business analyst and work-stream leader roles for small and large projects, and between 2008 and 2011 managed RBF’s statewide financial counselling services including an inbound call-centre for RBF’s 80,000+ members.

Lauren holds a Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the Australian Institute of Business, a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from University of Tasmania, vocational diplomas in project management and financial services, and is currently studying for a Masters of Information Systems with Deakin University.
