Mark Wakeford

Chief Executive Officer

Mr Wakeford moved to Myanmar in October 2018 to take on the role of Exera’s CEO.  Mark spent 17 years with G4S (Worlds Largest Security Solutions provider) working in the UK, USA, PNG, Thailand, Philippines and Singapore providing complex outsourced services. These services included Manned Guarding, Mobile Security, Event Management, Electronic Security, Alarm Monitoring, Facilities Management and Cash Management.  In the UK, Mark was responsible for leading, winning and implementing major “Business to Government” outsourcing opportunities by providing customers with integrated field services and technology solutions.

He is also a Chartered Mechanical Engineer with an MBA.

Kay Thwe Oo

Vice-President, Finance, HR & Administration

Kay Thwe OoMa Kay is Vice-President, Finance, HR & Administration at Exera. She joined the company in 2014 as its accountant and has developed its finance and payroll systems to facilitate its growth from 100 to over 1,100 employees. Previously, she worked at Samsung Myanmar following her return to the country from nearly a decade of work and study in the United Kingdom. While in the UK, she earned her ACCA designation and worked at an SME accounting firm.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in applied accounting from Oxford Brookes University and studied physics at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the University of Yangon.


Simon Potvin

General Manager, Protective Services

Mr Simon Potvin is General Manager – Protective Services for Exera, where he has worked since January 2016. He is responsible for the operations and the good delivery of services related to the man-guarding, training, and close protection operations. A Physical Security specialist, he graduated in Security Management and Police Studies at the Université de Montréal, where he gained extensive knowledge and experience in security management, emergency preparedness & response, security design, investigative methods, and criminology. He is also a retired Intelligence Officer from the Royal Canadian Navy, where he worked on national security contracts in cooperation with Canada’s different agencies at the Marine Security Operations Centers to ensure its safety and sovereignty.

Michael Langlais

General Manager, Risk & Secure Logistics

Mr Langlais first joined Exera in 2015 as Director of Risk Consulting, and rejoined in January 2019 as General Manager Risk & Secure Logistics. In this role he is responsible for all aspects of risk consulting, analysis and reporting, security management planning, crisis management and emergency intervention, transportation logistics, and cash-in-transit operations.  A former officer in the Canadian Armed Forces with extensive deployed experience, Michael has served as the deputy commander of a diplomatic armed escort task force in post-revolution Libya, directed counter-insurgency economic operations for four provinces in southern Afghanistan, and supported a broad variety of formed NATO and coalition task groups. More recently, he has managed campaign communications and constituency affairs for a Canadian provincial cabinet minister, and served as a senior associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. A graduate cum laude in commerce from the Sobey School of Business, he studied political science and public administration at the University of Ottawa, qualified as a United Nations Military Observer at the Peace Support Training Centre, and completed training with USAID and the Counter-insurgency Training Centre (Afghanistan) in Kabul.


Wutt Yee Lwin @ Wendy

Vice President, Business Development

Before joining Exera in January 2019, Wendy worked for six (6) years in business development and account management roles for a security services company in Singapore and a medical services MNC in Myanmar.  She successfully secured many contracts including several major new contracts and 90% successful contract renewals as a result of driving long-term client satisfaction. Wendy studied and worked abroad for 8 years prior to her return to Myanmar at the end of 2015.  She holds a Master of Business Administration from James Cook University (Australia), and a Bachelor of Arts (English) from Yangon University.  She also has a Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Kaplan Singapore.


Kyi Lynn Aung

Senior Manager, Client Services

Kyi joined Exera in 2018 as the Senior Manager of Clients & Quality, where processes the contract management including organising the CRM meetings and managing any issues or concerns from clients, ensuring the operational procedures are being implemented in accordance with the contract standards. Kyi has a strong client services and counselling background having been in the educational industry for over 10 years both as an International Education Consultant and as a School Admission Officer. Kyi has exceptional communication skills and is an excellent facilitator which allows her to maintain a cooperative environment throughout the process. Kyi holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Information Technology from Thanlyin Technological University, Myanmar.
